About Me
Welcome! The Future Mrs. Darcy is, in fact, Somerville based graphic designers, Kristen Cox. (That's me!) I created The Future Mrs. Darcy in 2008 to sell wedding invitations after falling deep down a rabbit hole of my own wedding planning the previous year. They were cute invitations based on famous couples like Bonnie and Clyde or Bogey and Bacall. Slowly as I got farther from the wedding scene I entered the "having babies scene" (enter the Baby's First Annual Report) and the kids obsessed with this or that stages (enter Wings of Fire merch).
Not to mention, The Future Mrs. Darcy became my place to weird fun separate from my graphic design work (largely for associations see Hudson Collaborative for more!) I have a series of t-shirts based on if I ever learn and instrument and start a band. That's weird. And fun. Maybe you think is it too!
But Etsy just got to be too much baggage and it was time to send this baby off to college (metaphorically) so here I/We am/are trying to make a go of it in the big scary ocean of internet.
I am honest to goodness human not robot. I design everything myself. I print the baby calendars at a local printer in Cambridge, MA. The stickers are from both Sticker Giant and Sticker Pilot (trying different vendors!). Everything else is printed from a commercial printer that specializes in drop shipping. That means once you order, it gets transferred to them and they make it which is nice because I don't need to guess if I should order 50 mediums in red and 20 xsmalls in navy and shirts sit unworn gathering dust because really everyone wanted larges in white.
If you have any questions, please reach out. Either here or on instagram, if an online contact for seems too nebulous. So many of the fun ideas have been user submissions so be brave and just ask!
